Acianthera aveniformis (Hoehne) C.N. Gonç. & Waechter (Ex-Pleurothallis aveniformis)a
























Pequeña orquídea epífita cespitosa, que crece en ambientes luminosos y húmedos, formando extensas y compactas matas. Es relativamente abundante, sobre todo siguiendo los cursos de los arroyos dónde hay abundante exposición solar. Presenta hojas teretiformes y carnosas que recuerdan a los granos de avena (de allí su nombre).
El rizoma es rastrero y las hojas se ubican dispuestas en forma paralela al mismo.
Las flores son de color amarillo-anaranjado, con líneas longitudinales marrón- rojizas, se presentan de a una por pseudobulbo. La especie florece entre los meses de julio a septiembre.
Es de cultivo relativamente fácil, aunque no se la suele encontrar muy fácilmente en las colecciones.
El género Acianthera se ha separado del género Pleurothallis, dónde originalmente se encontraba ésta especie.
Small caespitose epiphytic orchid that grows in a bright, wet, forming large, compact clumps. It is relatively abundant, especially along the courses of streams where there is plenty of sun exposure. Fleshy leaves presents teretiformes resembling oats (hence the name).
The rhizome is creeping and the leaves are found arranged in parallel to it.
The flowers are yellow-orange, with reddish-brown longitudinal lines, presented one at a pseudobulbs. The species blooms between July and September.
Cultivation is relatively easy, although it is not usually easily find in the collections.
Gender Acianthera has separated the genus Pleurothallis, where this species was originally.
